Hi Pals! Welcome back to another food post (YAY!) 🌚

But before we go into that, perhaps having some transportation guidance will save a lot of your time while travelling around Hokkaido!

1. Please do get your Hokkaido Rail Pass, if you're going to travel around Hokkaido! 🚄🚄🚄

We have gotten the 7 days Hokkaido Rail Pass, which costs about $290, while they also have the 3 days, 5 days or flexible 4 days passes. You may check out the prices here, and compare it to klook or kkday where they might have special package comes together with it!

For the Hokkaido Rail Pass, you would need to change your ticket to the pass, as shown below, in Hokkaido's station. But fear not, as their airport train station has one counter too! The queue might take awhile, so plan some time for that.

2. Transportation Route:

This might be one of the most important section you have to take note because the train/bus runs away without waiting for additional one second! For this, we really planned so well before we head over, or consistently loading the time table! But HyperDia really helped a lot, and it's always advisable to wait for the train at least 5minutes beforehand! As the train usually arrives before the search time #thankmelater

OKAY SO WE OBVIOUSLY SAVED THE GOOD NEWS FOR THE BOTTOM PART OF THE POST

--

Let's have a countdown on the food, shall we start from top 1?! LOL. Okay, let's go~ 🤤

P.S/ let's start with the most delicious cream puff that I've gotten in the supermarket of Hokkaido, I believe every supermarket has this, but we have gotten this from Asahikwa's supermarket 💗 Perfect moment for any train ride or after dinner treat!! OMG, CAN I GET THIS LIKE NOW?!

Top 5: Samurai Curry

The curry samurai was introduced by our Airbnb host, and it tasted pretty decent in the town of Sapporo. I like how huge the portion is, basically if you don't eat much or want to venture into more food, you can share one bowl of the curry soup!

I love Japanese curry, where it's not spicy but sweeter! But they do have like laksa curry, which has more coconut milk and slightly spicier. Also, they have the different level of the spiciness, I choose lv 4 which is just for my tastebud!

Address: Japan, 〒001-0022 Hokkaido Prefecture, Sapporo, Kita Ward, 北22条西4丁目2-20

Top 4: The Ramen 🍲

I really love how big portion the ramen of this shop is! It is at Kamikawa (near the ice pavilion or a station away from Biei or Funao)! It's pretty affordable which is about 930Yen (around SGD $11)

The broth is pork bone, and it tasted really salty but I LOVE IT! They will only start cooking every ingredient upon order, thus the wait is usually 15-30minutes. With the really fresh bean sprout, that is still crispy and the noodle isn't blanched or precooked. So the waiting game is real.

Top 3: MORNING MARKET -  HUGE ASS SCALLOP, SUPER SWEET HONEYDEW AND FRESHEST SQUID

I HAVE TO FEATURE THIS PART OF MY JOURNEY AND IT'S SOOOO OMG!!

Okay, I guess I'm safe to say that, in my next trip, I will venture more in Hakodate, thanks to all the great food in that area! Just the morning market alone, it kinda wow-ed me with all the impressive food!! I fished the squid up, if you haven't watch it, catch that up on my vlog!

The honeydew was like a little too overpriced, like SGD $6, BUT IT'S REALLY SWEET LIKE DAMN SWEET!!

Top 2: Sushi 🍣

This is at Hakodate too! I couldn't remember the name of the sushi restaurant, but I must say it's freshly made right in front of you literally, and it tastes really fresh and good! I mean, just look at the tuna and salmon and you will know how fresh those fishes are, also, Hakodate is near the ocean which means fresher seafood! Key point: the price is pretty reasonable I would say, it is only SGD$12 for their premium set!

It's near Perry house inn, walk a little further down in the direction of the drug store, towards your left and you will be able to see it.

Top 1: HAKODATE CHEESE CAKE!!

Of course, I died on every cheesecake, but this is DA BOMB 💣, no I'm not even kidding. If you think Le Tao is great, then you have to eat this. The cheesecake from this brand melts in your mouth and it's so fresh that it couldn't last more than 3 days!! Also, it's damn fragile la, omg. I was just walking back from the red brick warehouse to the train station, and it started to look ugly. Thus, no image of it 😅

So this concludes my top 5 favourites, and what are yours from Japan? OMG, I might be heading to Tokyo or Osaka next year Feb, so if you have any great suggestions, please tell me~~!!

Tata,
Tiff

Hello Nommies ! I'm back with another review of food ! Missing the little corner that I kept all the food records, so obviously that is the reason why I'm back here ! LOL.

A small corner near Raffles place station and they are about to close because it's raffles place, like hype in the morning, bars at night. They have a partnership with OCBC then, with a 1-for-1 deal on certain items, so obviously I took that deal with the insanely crazy amount of food that we almost couldn't finish.

All Salmon All The Time - $16.90

Under The Sea - $18.90

Both the sushi have to be my favourite, especially the Under the Sea ! Both was super duper huge, or i'm not sure whether my mouth became smaller, but anyways, it was really good !

Under The Sea has torched scallop lying on top of the sushi (I just ate it by itself anyway, way too huge to fit) and loving Mentaiko sauce after tasting sushi express new dish then. With avocado, crabstick and cucumber as the filling, trust me when I say the avocado blended really well with the sushi as I'm someone weird who dislike the raw avocado taste and obviously they used the Japanese type of cucumber which was really enjoyable (I'm not sure are we calling them zucchini, but ya).

While All Salmon All the time was equally awesome, but the fish eggs kept dropping out when I tried to eat them ! LOL ! Surprisingly with the yuzu mayo, it has this really like light and refreshing taste. Yuzu has been my favourite after I started working with Zingrill, as we have Chef's Noodle which has Yuzu tea, that's why I could remember the taste ! The salmon basically wrap the whole sushi and the avocado fit in really nicely too !

 Gyu Don - $21

Yakiniku Don - $20

Obviously, this is the craze craze part where two young ladies ate another two bowls of rice but I have to say it's called a sushi bar for some good reasons. The Yakiniku I only ate one huge mouthful, which taste pretty like yoshinoya beef bowl rice, and some disappointment when the egg is not super runny type.

As for the Gyu Don, the beef was more like a rare-medium, which means 60% rare and 40% medium, thus, it has this really beefy aftertaste and there so much iron taste in it. The meat was pretty chewy and matches well when you tried wrapping it with the rice.

They also offered wholegrain rice, in case you're health conscious !

Lastly, their ambiance is really quite good to chill and have some good alcohol ! As raffles place doesn't have much crowds at night, thus, eating slowly and chill is welcomed I guess.

Address: 8A Marina Boulevard, #B2-51 Marina Bay Link Mall, 018984

Perhaps, this is one of the latest blog post, I'm blogging right now... Today is mother's day, and we , three sister *ahem* no doubt, that we three actually plan and came to a conclusion of bringing my mum to a Japanese buffet ! *yay*

Actually recently my mum  has a Facebook account and of course, she saw adv posted by her friend that shows the "$14.90" Japanese buffet... you know, the one in clarke quay~ But it's fully book, and after asking around we found out that there is a better Japanese buffet located at Miramar hotel !

Firstly, I have to claim that, it's not $14.90 but $39.90++ for a lunch buffet. hahas~ Double the price, but oh well, it's mother's day!

We reach there real early, the buffet starts at 11.30am, but I have gang chiong parents, and we reached at 11am. Oh well, so we decided to take some #OOTD

And some love from us sister ! Kekekes, actually, I demand for a second shot, cause I look Fugly in this shot, but somehow this looks really happy. hahahs !

We actually expected buffet style, where food are lay on the table for us to take, but they actually serve us the food. But, the restaurant is actually real small, so reservation is encouraged !

The food serve is fast at the beginning, and slow down after which. So super encourage to order a lot initially so that they would have time to serve you all slowly ! Cause my family, not sure is just us or what, we actually waited for the food to be serve out.

They will serve you the salmon and some fresh salad before you even order anything. Also, because my parents are so picky on the wasabi not being spicy or like chocking, and the lady actually grind it longer so it will be more chocking. Real good serve !

Say Nommy !

Everything is served with small portion, as we just order a 6 portion, and tata, big portion of yummy sashimi ! And they are really fresh, I mean it's sweet and with the wasabi, omo daebak ! (Y)

Next will be the complementary soup, that taste like miso soup ! With the tea, okay, the tea actually taste a bit weird, but nevertheless, the soup is real nice ! With all those ingredientsss, cooked salmon !

Bacon, who don't like bacon, especially it's like cooked using the torch ? hahas, okay, i think it using the torch, with cooked cherry tomatoes ! It's a real pleasure, except being burning hot when you have your first mouth bite on it ! As the juice will just burnt your tongue !

Last real must order, is the Japanese congee ! They use the miso soup and cooked it, instead of normal water *that's what I have tasted* which actually taste real nice, as the rice absorb the miso taste ! :} And with the other ingredients~~

Say okay !
Sushi is always the right choice in Japanese restaurant, and for them, it's really  alright. The rice ball is quite small but big piece of ingredient ! Too bad, the soft shell crab need to top up money, otherwise I would have some hand roll sushi too !

Totally not a salad person, but somehow their salad are yummy, crispy and fresh ! Loving the cold tofu salad !

With the fried mushroom and the fried prawn, you need to choose the correct one. Otherwise, they won't use the tempura flour but the bread crumb~

Say nahh

Not sure we ordered wrongly, or is it just not really nice. This is the bread crumb fried prawns and another fried potato dish, which I'm so disappointed, I love potato dishes :(. Another is also fried, just avoided fried dishes maybe?

Also quite alot people visit Ikoi Japanese restaurant for buffet !

After which, headed to Ikea and my cute dad just have to post ! haha, see where i'm coming from ?! kekeke

Lastly, happy omma day ! Okay, I dragged for two days, I started out on Sunday ! Real Fact !

Ohiyo~~~ *wave*

It was a sister date last week with my elder sister, and to be honest, our relationship isn't really great nowadays but it's great that we still went to eat togetherrrr~ And it was her treat for ramen because she owe me a ramen meal because I helped her email herself. LOL.

Anyway, back to topic, ramen. Yes, we went to na-nt-sut-tei which is at millenia walk. The environment there is really good, especially when you walk in, you will get a hell heaven shock from them. hahahs. Also, they also have seats for one person and table for more than one ( #youdontsay).

They also have guide on how to eat ! Their ramen noodles are soft type, and I love itttt ! Also, for the soup base, it has the more meaty taste, unlike other ramen shop which has more of the slowly boiled soup taste. For me, I actually like this soup base, but the noodles, nah, a little not be my liking because they more you eat, the weirder it gets. LOL. Also, their egg is the standard ramen shop egg, and I also know how to cook that *proud* hahahahs

For their rice, it's great to have the soup from the noodles, but the rice is way too meaty, and in the end, all you taste is just meat and more meat. LOL. As, the soup base is the meaty type, so = more meaty taste. Yes, my sister decided to take my soup over to her rice.

Rate for dishes: 4/5 , as the portion is just nice for one, also, due to what I said aboveee!

And my monday blues #OOTD, it wasn't really planned to wear all blue. Just that I gotten my new $2 unbreakable cover which is also blue ! hahahahs !

Then we head to somerset for some high tea moment, actually is shopping but failed because those I saw isn't to my fitting ._. So we decided to have some classic lady lifestyle, and drink tea coffee. Always wanted to go in shokudo for some dinning time, but always failed, and not this time~~

When in and have some dessert, but the service isn't fantastically good, but it's a good place to chill and have some dessert. The waffle is crispy and all good, except some chao da (burned) area with the matcha ice cream (oh, you can select your ice cream flavour) together with red bean and whipped cream. Red beans are matcha's best friend when come to nomming them down your throat togetherrrrr~

Rate: 3.5/5

P.S/ Eating is a blessing, why on diet when you can eat?
