Okay, as moving from my last year's super delayed post to early this year's trip, I finally have the motivation to give u guys or jotting down for myself the best black pork in JEJU! My Korea friend was telling me that her friend mentioned that was the nicest she ate as well, so without further ado, let's go~

DRIVE

 If you think that woman driver is bad, then you may go ahead to drive in Jeju. Becuase I drove there for all the three days, and the most insane thing was... there was a mini typhoon on the day we landed, that's why it was raining super badly to the point I can't even see clearly.

But one thing to take note, the driver is on the left-hand side, and there is barely street lights so make sure to on high beam.

I think the place I stayed was the prettiest, and the most convenient one! It is located 30minutes away from the airport and about 15minutes to Innisfree, Osulloc and Teddy Bear Museum!

It's a two level house, and the interior was really cosy! I loveeee how the second level is such a great place to take a room shot!

BLACK PORK!!




THE REAL DEAL IS HERE! Okay, I think I really have some issues with myself, I love to write food posts at 12 am which means my tummy will be hungry by now 😩 Anyway, that's not the deal, the deal is this black pork is visited by Superman Returns' twin family 😍

The black pork is so much crispier skin as compared to the normal one, the real thick and juicy lean meat were real good. 🤤 The best part was, wrap it with kelp and put some soy powder, I would guarantee you that is the best wrap you've ever tasted! Okay, at least it is for me till today. I love how salty the kelp was marinated, and the soy powder blended with a little #soybabe to help the neutralised the taste a little, and of course what Kbbq without the spicy sauce! Perfect match for the cold winter then! 🐷💚⛄

Oh, and I forget to mention, it's super pocket-friendly! For two pax, it's about SGD$20 each!

A story where all hotpot taste right~ Okay, honestly we order like the cheapest one, hahahs ! Because we all are not really hungry, yet we should eat dinner.. so tata ! It's with my family #aladydayoutwithoutdad

The free side dishes ! I love the potato and the sausage dishes


Having the cold buckwheat noodles, which taste really not bad ! The soup have a slight clear beef taste, which is pleasantly tasty with the noodless ! And the noodles taste really Q too !

Tae woo korean restaurant is located at clarke quay, which is like 90% empty, but when we go, there is still quite a few people, and 90% (10% = us) are korean O.O Tae woo's item ain't really cheap, but their food is like zhichar but in the korean style~


1. fried dumpling~~

Okay, I think their fried dumpling is abit tasteless, and their filling is 99.9% veg with meat which isn't a lot~ Not really worth trying because I think the chinese style one is sooo much shiok ! Hahahs


2. boiled dumpling

This is even more tasteless, seriously, I'm not sure is it my tastebud or their dumplings are really blend. But not really worth it. next next.

3. Sweet and sour pork

This is quite okay, its quite different from the chinese version. The flour is a little more than meat, but it's actually make it have a texture to bite it. And it's quite solid to eat it. Not saying its liquid or whatever, but like QQ to bite it.


4. JJM ! JJM ! JJM !

My favouriteeeee, this is $12, abit expensive as mention, buttttt it's real good deal ! As I feel the noodles are handmade, which make it damn QQ like got the texture you know ! You know machine noodles are abit flour flour, but this is totally different, it has the thickness of laksa noodles (the thick bee hoon) but its a noodle ! hahahhs

And the black bean sauce is my lover currently, its.damn.flavour.full. hahhahahs !

And if you love jambong too ! (below) you can try this !


This is $18, which consist of both the JJM and jambong, which is widely loved by korean. The jambong seems a little normal for me, I feel its just seafood inside tomyum but not sour? Worth the first time try thought, but I still perfer JJM.

So I would think, you could just eat their JJM or JJM/Jambong.

Anyway, if you get to SEE my insta, this is probably like 2 months ago stuff? Where my mum and I went to Novena and decided to eat seoulyummy as it has some promotion. Like what we ordered is only $48? If I didn't remember wrongly !


A pretty spacial place, with the looking cool wires, which people could hang their love locks ! I think you could buy from the counter for like $2?


This is the options for the set of $48.90 ! We chosen the army's stew with assorted meat !


Firstly, our starter dish, potato pancake ! It taste quite alright, like normal pancake to be real frank. hahahhs ! I just in love with the stew ! hahahs ! This is like a must to dip with the sauce as it gives you more of the taste, since the pancake with potato doesn't taste real strong.


MY favourite ! Usually when watching K-drama, this is like a must have ! And you know I watched WGM; for seohyun one, they ate this ! hahahs ! And this is like the first ever meaty meal I bite with my braces teeth ! *opps, I just realise I haven't bite my teeth* hahahahs


The soup taste like miso soup with lots of ingredients !


Together with the rice cake and the maggie ! SHIOK ! But just to take note, the rice cake you might want to eat it before it soak for too long and become like... soggy? When its soaked awhile, take it out first, and it will still be QQ. And its really a full meal for me and my mum ! I mean, I do eat a lot leh ! hahahs ! Also, the spiciness level was alright to begin with and towards the bottom is a little spicy, you could ask the stuff to add a bit more spices in it !


Lastly, the dessert which I love the most, macha ice creammm ! I didn't really eat the red beans, but it feel like ice kachang at the bottom !

All in all, I would rate it like an 7.5/10. Their service was quite okay, until they were really packed and they started to forget your additional orders (like asking for drinks). The ambition was good too ! Not much people until 730 which the queue started to form.

And its about... 6pm? Where people started flooding in, they have quite a few staffs only when we go, might be due to weekdays?


Hohoho, and the endless side dishes ! CAN YOU SPOT MY FAVOURITEEEE?! Anyway~ there refill is ENDLESS NUMBER OF TIME, except for the egg !


First up, the beef hotplate, okay, maybe not everyone could eat beef, but their beefs are really soft (even I had braces on for the first month, I could chew it well). It of course taste better than those koufu's korean beef, the sauce is thicker and its real good along with the rice.


Of course, Bibimbap ! Ermmm, somehow dramas have no bibimbap but even I was real young, I went to korea and we also eat this ! Their bibimbap uses the korean chilli paste, which is a little sweet yet spicy and billions of the korean type of sprouts and meat too ! Taste pretty like those in the resturants~


The ultimate seafood tofu stew, nope, its not filter but endless smoke on my phone and I could wait for it too like too cool so a snap and we started nomming ! Hhahs, my bad~ But this stew is super spicy ! Like SOS ! The first mouth was alright and if you continue it just get worse, but its real good to drink it~~ And what's a dinner without soup?


Lastly, the seafood pancake, and just realise we ordered quite a two seafood dishes. Firstly, this is totally not braces-friendly, as it has huge pieces of sotong inside it ! ahahahs ! I was like having some biting issue with this pancake, like a love-hate feeling as the pancake itself taste so good, like QQ but I just can't chew that piece of sotong !!! hahahahs ! Anyway, it's over, I could bite it now~

Overall rating:
All in all, I love the food but I really have no idea how much it cost as my supervisor decided to treat us instead. Also, the staffs could be a little busy and they forget to top up our side dishes when we requested, like twice? The food was good to give it a try, especially the pancakes !

Hope you all have a more delicious time reading this, and to be real honest, I am considering something real big for my food journey after my braces operations and after I fully recover ! Really hope it will be a dream come true !

Their ranges of food seems alright, they even have fruits. Whenever its not enough in the buffet table, just inform them and they will replace the food. The cook plate could only replace twice, so advise to switch medium instead of high heat in case of burned food.

The food they serve is quite like Sissek even the price range are about there. So let's the picture do the talking now !

Overall, I would feel that their service are quite so-so as 90% they don't disturb u while you're eating except you ask their for the cooking plate. The food are pretty much like what the usual korea bbq serve and having the "about there" price range. But if you stay around there, it won't hurt to try out !

Remember that time I went to SSIKKEK korean bbq buffet?

This time round, I went with ttakjiers ! But it's a little costly, because we went on a weekend, it's $28 for a lunch buffet. During the weekend, there is so much more meat ! MEATTT~

Also, they have change their location, still in  novena but so much nearer to the MRT station and it's super duper well furnished !

Didn't manage to snap much photos because of... kekeke, FOOD IN FRONT OF US ! LOL !




And thanks to the two big chef, haoming and darren which I'm not super sure whether the food is fully cooked because I went to the toilet twice after a day ! LOLOL ! Ans hao zhe for the bacon, lolol, he keep cooking bacon which darren end up making fun of him ! "bacon tie, bacon belt. All bacon"


And we tired eating it the korean way, you must have a big BIG mouth ! hahahs !
