Sponsored Review: Mad about sucre

In the quiet downtown of Singapore, near Outram Park MRT station, there is a fancy Paris style cafe, which could make one feel that this is not in Singapore. Mad about sucre is a cafe that only have cafes and tea, which is just right for a high-tea venue.

Mad about sucre, is not only "mad" about providing quality cake, they are also "mad" about their classic design ! Because I feel it ! Together with the open kitchen concept, if you could see it from the reflection of the mirror. It allow customers to feel their sincerity in baking each and every cake with their lo

However, they are no "mad" about the usage of sugar. By saying this, it means that they do not use much sugars, and they do not use any pre-mixes and artificial flavourings. This means that the cakes are solely taste like the real fresh ingredients !

They also have a corner for shawn who has the passion for sketching, and each products are created out from his imagination. Some of the furnitures also uses Shawn's brand.

Even the way to their restroom, looks so artistic. And yes, they do have restroom that are super clean ! hahahs ! #youknowjustgirls

Of course, their cakes are like the main course in this blog post, so let'sssssssss GO !

 Moulin Rouge - $10.80

This slightly-charred caramel mousse, with walnut parfait, savour sponge which is a sweet short pastry. This is the first pastry we tried, and I fall in love with it almost immediately #nojoke ! You guys should know how judge-y I'm when it comes to food, especially cakes !

The base is a little thick for the fork to poke through, but it is not hard to bite it. With many layers of mousse and sponge in between one another, create a different types of textures which is surprising pleasant for it to melt in your mouth. I would suggest trying it without the walnut first and then with the walnut. The walnut creates another taste when it makes with the cafe, you will taste the crispy and nutty yet with a slight caramel taste. Really feel this cake is worth it.

Coco Citron - $9.80

Light coconut mousse together with light lemon curd, crystal drops, sablée tart. This is not really my type of cake, as I simply dislike coconut that is does not come as the real coconut fruit. Tried it a mouth or two, my review will be simple yet impactful. When I ate it, it has the strong coconut taste, and before it become so disgusting, thanks god the lemon taste cover the coconut taste and it is rich and not artificial, which also provide the texture of a curd. However, it's just me, who also do not like to taste the shred coconut.

But what I love about this cake is the crystal drops sugar, THIS SOOOOO YUMMY ! Okay, told u it's just me who is weird, but really, hard to do and great to bite.

If you do eat oneh oneh, perhaps this will be your type of cake. #yesidonteveneatonehoneh #iknowimmissingoutinlife. hahahhs

Passionné - $10.80

Light cheese with passion fruit, sponge soaked with dew of passion fruit. Sweet short pastry, together with coco nip crunch. Who loves cheese and sour sour taste *rise hand for cheese* This will be that cake that seems to be customised for u ! This cake is really a sweet short pastry, as we all know that cheese might taste a bit too sick after a huge piece, and this cake end your continuous eating before that happened.

The sour tasting passion fruit blend too well with the cheese, and it has this unique yet mouth-craving taste. Together with the coco nip crunch which give a little bitter, yet nutty just a little, to the cake, which makes it taste more settled.

San Domingue - $12.80
Okay, this is my favouriteeeeeeee CAKE !

Mousse made from 70% single origin chocolate, rum jewel box, caramelised plantain vanilla cream, brittany crunch. You simply do not know what's inside this cake, IT IS BANANA ! The small present looking at the top, contain rum (a type of alcohol) usually use in chocolate or baking, which this took me by surprise as it exploded in my mouth after a small bite ! It melt the chocolate well, and the chocolate is dark chocolate which is obviously healthier ! The ball-looking chocolate has a hard outer shell, but a soft mousse texture at the inside together with ba-na-na-na-na~ It really match each other so well, or should I say because I love this two ingredients !

Eating it together with the base change the texture inside your mouth, as everything should taste a little more soft, but the base is crunchy so ya. But it's still taste sooooo good !
